Over the cliffs and far away . . .

(Greystones harbour, Wicklow)

We're in the middle of a pretty epic heat wave, by Irish standards. It hasn't rained in three or possibly even four weeks and the temperature every day has climbed towards 26 and 27 degrees. I know that's downright chilly for some readers of this blog - which has regular readers from as far afield as Texas and Yamagata, Japan - but it's positively tropical for Ireland!

Anyway, because Ireland is so green, when it does get hot here, it starts to look positively Mediterranean. So to celebrate the good weather while it’s here, I took a couple of pictures of the scenery on the cliffs where I walk my dog every day.

(His name is Bob and in general, he’s in favour of walks but most definitely not in favour of cats.)(Bray Head, Wicklow)

Alanna, aged 2.5, from London was delighted to see her old friend Bob on the computer. Alanna and Bob have been firm friends, oh for about 2.5 years now.
They have a penchant for sharing drinks from the water bowl and Bob was delighted when a person was introduced that he diddn't have to go to the bother of jumping on the furniture in order to lick their face.
Needless to say Alanna's parents were somewhat surprised that one of her very first words was actually Bob.

Now I have to admit a certain level of bias -- as co-owner of Bob -- but I do think he is incredibly cute. I have the shot of him on the cliffs as my wallpaper and all my work colleagues agree, even those who don't particularly like animals!
